The Challenge
The main challenge in designing this product was creating a device that meets the diverse needs of people with various learning disabilities while maintaining ease of use, ergonomic comfort, and efficiency. It was essential to design a product that:
-
Adapts dynamically to individual needs, offering targeted feedback based on specific learning disabilities.
-
Provides an intuitive and interactive interface that doesn’t overwhelm the user.
-
Allows for a seamless, comfortable experience, so users feel empowered rather than hindered by the tool.
-
Supports multi-functional use, including reading assistance and problem-solving exercises, all within a compact, easy-to-hold design.

DESIGN PROCESS
Our design process centered on three main pillars: user experience, accessibility, and technological integration.
Ergonomic and Accessible Design: An ergonomic design was prioritized to allow users to operate the device comfortably with one hand, leaving the other hand free for writing or pointing to areas of focus. Through extensive prototyping and user testing, we optimized the form factor to make it lightweight, portable, and intuitively shaped for prolonged use without fatigue.
Feedback and Iteration: We conducted multiple rounds of testing with people of varying ages and learning needs, iterating based on feedback to refine the product’s comfort. The goal was to ensure that the interaction felt supportive and foster a positive learning atmosphere.
